Does your school have a formalized, updated plan for parent reunification?
In the immediate aftermath of a crisis event, the primary responsibility of the school is to ensure the safe and timely return of students to their parents. All too often the media shows us harrowing images of the emotional post-crisis event chaos as parents desperately try to find out what has happened to their children.
A plan for parent reunification cannot be developed “on the fly” in the midst of crisis events that will inevitably occur in a school.
Parent reunification training is a half day course designed for administrative teams to develop and implement a district or school-specific plan that addresses critical accountability, logistical, and custody concerns. ESSN consultants will discuss the important legal, liability, and logistical issues associated with parent reunification, and assist the administrative team in creating a plan that deals with the specific concerns and constraints of the district or school.
