Unit objectives:
Participants will understand the importance of disclosures in preventing violence and be able to identify both obstacles and effective strategies that impact student disclosures.
Participants will understand how effective supervision works to prevent and respond to violence and be able to implement active, strategic supervision practices.
Participants will be able to practice effective visitor engagement and screening as a violence prevention measure.
Participants will understand the importance of individual preparedness in responding to crisis events.
Participants will be able to identify factors that compromise appropriate access control.
Participants will understand the impact of internal and external crisis communications and be able to apply improvement strategies.
